Lake Mohawk Golf Club
471 West Shore Trail, Sparta, NJ 07871
In 1928, 125 scenic acres between the lake and the high alpine ridge, was set aside by Arthur D. Crane and Herbert Closs. This valley became the Lake Mohawk Golf Club; with the first hole being played Labor Day weekend - 1929. The course was designed by Duer Irving Sewall, overlooking the main lake in the Lake Mohawk reservation. The course is a par 70, and is approximately 6500 yards. Practice facilities include a driving range, putting green and a short game (chipping) area. The club today is a private 18 hole course and restricted to 245 bondholders.
The Clubhouse provides a full service dining venue available in the dining room, grill room and separate member’s grill. In addition, meeting and locker facilities are available for private functions. The Chef and staff offer a delightful, frequently changing menu for a wonderful dining experience. For non-golfers, there are social and house memberships available to take advantage of this wonderful beautiful location, located between the woodlands and the water’s edge.
